As part of its ongoing commitment to safety and regulatory compliance, United National Oil Services (UNOS) has completed the demolition of the previous laboratory building at Najaf International Airport.
The decision followed formal instructions from the Civil Defense Authority, which identified the existing structure as non-compliant due to fire hazard risks associated with its construction materials. In response, UNOS took immediate corrective action to eliminate the identified risk and ensure full alignment with safety regulations.
A new laboratory facility has since been established using stone-based construction materials that meet the required fire safety standards. The upgraded laboratory has been developed in accordance with the same technical criteria and operational layout previously implemented, ensuring continuity in laboratory functionality while significantly enhancing structural safety and compliance.
This upgrade reflects UNOS’s proactive approach to risk mitigation, regulatory adherence, and the continuous improvement of its operational infrastructure.
